The short answer
| Film it yourself | CapCut or editing template | AI from one photo | |
|---|---|---|---|
| You need | A cafe with wall tables, permission, a second person, a tripod | Your own footage of the scene | One clear photo |
| Second guest | A friend has to play her | A friend has to play her | Built in, or your friend from a second photo |
| Time | An afternoon, plus takes | Filming time plus editing | Usually 3–10 minutes |
| Cost | Coffee for two, travel | Free or app subscription | From $9.99 per video, one-time |
| Original sound | Add it when posting | Usually included | Included in the MP4 |
| Caption | Add it when posting | Usually included | Add it when posting |
| Looks like | Really you, in a real cafe | Really you | AI re-creation of you; small details can change |
Option 1: Film it yourself
This is the most authentic version and the hardest. You need a cafe with small mounted tables at the right height, the owner’s permission to film (and to sit on the furniture, briefly), a friend who walks in at the right moment and a fixed camera. The joke lives in timing, so expect several takes. Be careful: those tables are not built to hold a person.
Best for: creators who can get into a suitable cafe and enjoy filming.
Option 2: A CapCut or editing template
Templates in editing apps can add the caption, the sound and a cut that matches the original. They don’t create the scene: you still have to film yourself on the table and someone else arriving. Some “photo” templates only animate a still image or swap a face, which doesn’t reproduce the climb-down.
Best for: people who already have footage and want quick editing.
Option 3: AI from one photo
With an AI video service like this one, you upload one photo. The AI re-creates the whole scene with you as the first-timer: the concrete cafe, the bench, the round tables, the regular and the timing are built in, and the video comes back with the original sound. Add a second photo and your friend plays the regular instead.
Things to know before you pay:
- Likeness is close, not perfect. We ask the AI to keep your face, hair, skin tone and build; fast turns can still change small details. A sharp, front-facing, full-length photo helps most.
- Your outfit comes from the photo. Colors and style carry over; layers, shoes or sleeves can change.
- The scene is fixed. You can’t change the cafe, the actions or the song.
- One or two people. You play the guest on the table, and an optional friend plays the regular. Use one photo per person; group photos don’t work.
- No on-screen text. Add the POV caption when you post.
Best for: anyone who wants the trend without a cafe, a friend or a camera, or who wants to make a friend the star (with their permission).
Which should you choose?
If you have the cafe and a friend, film it: it’s free and it’s really you. If you already filmed it, use a template for the caption and sound. If you just want to post the trend today from a photo, use AI. See prices or follow the step-by-step guide.
